Over the decades the Old Rauma Cellar has built up a base of clients who have become accustomed to a peaceful atmosphere, good food and good drink.  The cellar was originally built and used as an air-raid shelter and potato cellar for Old Rauma, and it was turned into a restaurant in 1967.  Many people still call the place “Kissa”, meaning “Cat”, because of its previous name, “Mustan Kissan Kellari” (“The Cellar of the Black Cat”).
Tradition plays an important role in the atmosphere and in our menu, which features a wide range from starters to steaks, and seasonal specialties.  Being a Rauma restaurant, our menu naturally features a number of different seafood dishes.  The famous ‘Olivia’s Chicken’ dish is, of course, still on the menu and remains one of our customers’ favourites.  More exotic choices include lamb and reindeer, and sometimes off-menu delicacies, such as horse meat.  Aperitifs and a comprehensive wine list complement the dining experience.  You are warmly welcomed to the pleasant atmosphere of the Old Rauma Cellar.
